
Back In January 2014 two friends came together with an idea to give the public the same sofas they could purchase on the high street, just a lot better value for money! They realised that by not over investing on locations, advertising, and multiple sale staff in each showroom they could give incredible savings back to the public!
Initially the pair only had £400 between them so not enough to open a showroom yet, so what they did was open a Facebook page and just bought a couple of start-up sofas. They sold these, then bought 4 sofas and so on until they had accumulated enough money to rent a very small unit and display a hand full of show models.
By this point the reputation of KC Sofas had spread and things developed very quicky with more showrooms opening over the next two years.
Jamie Charnock (Founder) “Initially we didn’t take a wage, my wife was supporting me for the first couple of years, then after two years we started to take a very small wage conscious that we wanted to build up a sizable bank balance for further growth!”

By 2020 KC Sofas opened their 6th showroom and were by now an established name in the sofa industry dealing with the largest and most respected sofa manufacturers around the world.

In January 2023 KC Sofas took on all its own customer deliveries, employing 8 more staff to take care of this department. This was really the final piece of the infrastructure that made KC Sofas totally self-sufficient.

The Secret to KC Sofas rapid growth over 10 years is simply down to determination, the people they have employed and the ethics that run through the company from top to bottom. By having like-minded individuals in the company all wanting to pull in the same direction has been a big factor as well as having family members at the core of the company giving it that all important stability!
The standards the founder instils in the company and the enthusiasm he has for his employees runs through the company.
