Yes, we would love to be the sofa company you buy your next sofa from. But even if we are not, we would like to help.
So, we have created a little step by step guide below that should help you when deciding on what and who to purchase from.
STEP 1: Measure - what you see in a showroom or online may look like it may fit in your room or through any access doorways, but trust us, check beforehand as nobody likes disappointment on delivery day!
STEP 2: Colour - Look at your space (walls, carpet, flooring, furnishings etc.) Do you want a sofa that will compliment or contrast? White spaces tend to work best with colours that compliment like greys and light shades. Colourful rooms can work best with contrasting colours. Think greens and yellows, oranges and blues, yellows and purple.
STEP 3: Price – Don’t be blinded by price, as the saying goes “You get what you pay for”. Remember that a huge amount of skilled workmanship goes into a sofa. Think labour costs, the various people making the fabric, sewing, frames, springs, foam, etc. Then think of the quality of the parts in your sofa. If the price is low, there will be a reason! Do they also offer Finance with a responsible lender? This offers another level of consumer protection!
STEP 4: Reputation - this is a big one! Always do your homework on the company you are buying from. Are they on any review sites like Trustpilot? Do they have any social media presence? Do they have any showrooms you can visit? What are their values? basically who is behind the glossy website?
KC Sofas tip: Find their address, search the address using google maps and then view the building using street view - you will now see where your sofa is coming from!
STEP 5: Delivery - Is the company you are buying from going to delivery your sofa themselves? Or are they using a 3rd party delivery company? Problems can occur like no shows, failed deliveries, sudden delays, not assembling your new sofa or taking away any packaging. In some cases, they won’t even take it into your home!
STEP 6: After Care - The bit nobody likes to talk about or admit, but what happens when something goes wrong? Does that sofa company have a dedicated customer service team? Are they easily contactable via phone, email or live chat? How quickly do they respond? We know there is nothing worse than when something goes wrong - but when it does, we know you want to be in safe hands.
